Logitech Keyboard Not Working

If your Rugged is having issues with charging, not detecting the iPad, or using the keyboard please ensure that your iOS version is updated to at least iOS 13.3 and that the Rugged firmware is 0.3.8 or higher. Please follow the directions below.

Ensure your iOS/iPad OS is up-to-date

  • Plug your iPad into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
  • Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
  • Tap Download and then Install and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • After you’ve updated your iOS version, you’ll need to check the firmware version of your Rugged Case. It should be 0.3.8 or later.


To check the Rugged Case firmware version:
  • Make sure your iPad is connected to the Rugged Case.
  • Tap Settings > General
  • Under General, go to the About section.


NOTE: Your Rugged Case is connected if it appears in the device list.
  • Select the Rugged Case to check the Firmware version. If it is earlier than 0.3.8, tap Update, and then follow the instructions to install.
  • If you do not see the update option, please remove the keyboard from the device, power off, and once powered on replace the keyboard and check the firmware. If an update is available it should automatically update after a few minutes.


If both the iPad iOS and the Rugged Case firmware are updated and your Rugged still isn’t allowing charging or the keyboard to work, please soft reset the iPad by holding down both the power button and the home button until the Apple logo re-appears on the screen and test the charging functionality after that.
