According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Laboratory Services, the following regulations are mandated:
“All food should be prepared only at the event/location/kitchen.
Preparing and transporting food made at home and brought to the event
location can be dangerous. The chances of bacteria multiplying in the
food increases with each step in the food preparation chain. This can
lead to food borne illness.”
Due to this
regulation and to assure the safety of all parties involved, the
Greencastle-Antrim School District Food Service Department cannot accept
donated foods or food brought in from an unapproved outside source for
special catering events. All food items that the Food Service
Department is responsible for preparing must be approved and ordered by
the Food Service Director. This is to ensure that the Hazard Analysis
Critical Control Point (HACCP) was adhered to in the delivery and
storage of the food items.
Please download the Catering Request Form
at right and email the completed form to nfoust@gcasd.org. To ensure
the delivery of the food, requests for special events must be received
four (4) weeks in advance of the event.
Requests for menu changes
(bagged lunch) need to be received six (6) weeks in advance. This
ensures time to change the menu week to meet new regulations. Your
one-day change can affect what is served the rest of the week because of
nutrient content. Please feel free to contact our office with any
questions.
